VOSD is a 12A/FCRA/CSR registered trust situated in Bengaluru, India. VOSD is the world’s largest no kill shelter, having rescued over 30,000 dogs from over 50 Indian Cities in the last 10 years. The sanctuary currently houses 1500+ dogs and counting to provide lifelong care. We also run the largest referral veterinary hospital for dogs in Bangalore. 

Each year 400+ dogs from across 50+ cities come to VOSD, by flight, road and train and are cherished at their new permanent home, becoming members of the VOSD family.  We stand as India’s haven for all dogs, providing lifelong care and shelter for those with no home and no hope. 

VOSD houses dogs who have been subject to unspeakable cruelty and hate, serving as a place of refuge to the victims of acid attacks, sexual assault,  knife attacks, as well as dogs who have been tied to train tracks to die and those who have been run over and left paralysed. We provide hospice care for old dogs and special needs dogs from across the country and are a safe place for the numerous pet dogs who have been abandoned. 

The VOSD dogs have access to their own hospital, a fleet of ambulances, and round-the-clock access to water and power, even in our remote location. They also have their own agility parks and a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool. Plus, over 600 trees provide ample shade in what was once barren land
