Chocolate was named so because he had the most beautiful chocolate brown coat and eyes. The handsome boy lived a beautiful life and although he was stunning, and had a king-sized personality, it’s the love that he sent our way that will be forever etched in our hearts. Our warm regards and thanks go out to everyone who sponsored his monthly boarding fees over the last 5 years – Chocolate was indeed blessed with the love of so many from around the world!
Chocolate spent the first 14 years of his life as a stray dog, probably abandoned as he was a mixed-breed Labrador, he was a tough alpha who had the respect of his pack but he preferred to stay alone, like a monk. However, Chocolate’s age-related health issues changed the entire dynamic. The once swift and steady Chocolate started to have trouble walking, even crossing the road became a treacherous task for him; the younger dogs noticed the shift in his gait and confidence; and pounced at the opportunity to assert dominance over the old guy.
Even in pouring rains or scorching sunshine, heartless humans shooed off the poor old Chocolate from building parking or basements where he tried to take refuge. Gradually this started taking a toll on his health.
One day our team spotted a huge maggot-infested wound on his back.VOSD Pune team quickly took action and saved him from a near-certain death. He was moved to a boarding where he would be safe and lead a dignified retirement life.

Doctors prescribed VOSD Joint Supplements and medicines for his arthritis. He took them without a fuss and the next five years went by uneventfully. He followed a disciplined schedule and showered love on every human who went to visit him. On the morning of March 26th, Chocolate passed away, as peacefully as he had lived, at the grand age of 19+ years.
Dogs that come into the safety of VOSD, get excellent medical care, individual attention, and tons of love.
