Cruelty Survivor Dogs from Chennai are now safe at VOSD

NEW DOG AT VOSD: CRUELTY SURVIVOR DOGS FROM CHENNAI ARE NOW SAFE AND HAPPY UNDER OUR CARE

A furious and distraught dog lover wrote to us from Chennai requesting us to admit three of her rescued stray dogs Bree, Love, and Nina. The trio had undergone unspeakable cruelty in the hands of her dog-hating neighbours who would frequently hit the dogs, pelt them with stones, and intentionally run vehicles over them. Multiple appeals to the police and other animal welfare NGOs hadn’t brought the perpetrators to justice or protected the dogs – in fact, two other stray dogs from the locality mysteriously disappeared.

The rescuer at her wits end knew the only safe place for Bree, Love, and Nina would be the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital so she arranged to transport them to us. Our team watched videos of the dogs being terrorised by the locals and beaten black and blue so we were determined to give the cruelty survivor dogs lots of love and care to help them overcome their traumatic past.

Despite everything they endured, the pooches are so warm and friendly towards humans. For the first week they were kept under observation to study their behaviour and one at a time we let them out to socialise and integrate with the rest of our dogs. Bree took to the open areas of the sanctuary like a fish to water; Love was a bit more apprehensive but with Nina’s help he too found comfort. They love running around meeting new dogs and people – every day is a fun-filled adventure! The dogs are eating well, and are in good health. They won’t ever be taunted, beaten, or harmed again and all they will receive is tonnes of affection.

If you know of a cruelty survivor dog who needs a safe home and medical care, please write to the VOSD Helpdesk info@vosd.in
