A dog lover residing in an apartment complex in Bengaluru came across a stray dog in a pitiful state. The canine’s forelimbs were crippled due to which he couldn’t walk properly or go in search of food. Knowing he wouldn’t survive if left unattended, he admitted the dog at a veterinary hospital. The doctors confirmed that his deformed forelimbs were congenital, hence couldn’t be fixed by surgery.

With no option of being returned to the streets, the rescuer requested VOSD to admit him. We accepted ‘Bobby’ without a surrender fees, as a one-time exception under the “Special Needs Dogs” category.

The poor boy is skin and bones, and he has a few wounds on his limbs from dragging himself on the streets. We’re thankful he was spotted and brought to us before his condition got any worse. Bobby won’t ever worry about surviving – in fact, he already has a comfortable bed, nutritious food, medical care, and individual attention to help him lead his days in good health and with dignity.

Special needs stray dogs cannot live on the harsh roads because even the basics such as finding food, water, and shelter become impossible. VOSD admits and cares for such pooches lifelong! We urge you to support the recovery & maintenance of dogs like Bobby and hundreds of others under our care by donating INR 5,000 ($65) one-time or monthly for their food & medical expenses: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/.
