VOSD PUNE RESCUES: STRAY DOG WITH A DEEP MAGGOT WOUND IN PRIVATE PARTS HAS FULLY RECOVERED; RELEASED BACK TO HIS LOCATION

A few days ago, we had posted about a stray dog, Mickey, who had a deep maggot wound in his private parts and was in a critical condition. After receiving a series of treatments at Animal Rescue Trust (ART) Pune, he has now fully recovered.

As per our procedures, we also got him sterilized and after post-operative care, Mickey has been finally released back to his location.

A sincere thanks to Mickey’s kind reporter who stayed with him for over two hours after reporting to us and Animal Rescue Trust – Pune for leaving no stone unturned in bringing him back to health!

Please note: All stray dogs cannot be adopted as there aren’t enough homes willing to take them in. Keeping healthy stray dogs in shelters or boarding for life is not an economically sustainable solution. So once our rescued stray dogs are healthy we release them back to their original locations. Luckily some stray dogs in Pune have one or more people who feed them and take care of small medical issues as their caretakers/feeders without actually adopting them or taking them home. The kindness of such people allows us to catch these stray dogs for their spay/neuter operations and the yearly anti-rabies vaccinations.
