What a glorious occasion it is for all of us – our darling girl Husna celebrates her nine-year anniversary with VOSD this month! She came to us as a wee puppy and has grown into a compassionate, kind, beautiful, happy girl who we are so proud of.

Her father Rakesh Shukla, who founded VOSD, has stood by her through every single day of her past nine years with us. In his eyes, she is the most beautiful girl in the world! We agree, don’t you? She snuggles by him every night and sits by him through the day – he is her hero, and she is his.
But how does she eat, can she live like a normal dog? Isn’t her life full of pain and suffering? These are some of the questions we’re frequently asked about Husna. Back in 2013, she lost her upper jaw when a bike hit her. This would’ve definitely made it difficult for her to survive on the street but at the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital, she has taught herself how to manage like a boss!
She can eat just as fast as any other dog and looks adorable with her food smushed all over her face. Even to date she can jump, play, run and mingle with our other babies all day long – proving that age is just a number. As for pain, her resilience is something we should all admire; her positive outlook is an inspiration for any of us who face a problem that might seem like the end. She has never let her cruel past or her immense pain shadow her happy present & future.
