Rescued by VOSD as month-old orphaned puppies, the brothers have been permanent residents of our sanctuary for over three years. The mixed breed Indian dogs tower over the average street dog and can be quite intimidating at first to approach, but they are extremely friendly with people and can stand beside us endlessly for pets and cuddles.
Though similar in some ways, the brothers are in fact polar opposites. Sultan will chase after any other dog he sees and pick fights, so he has to be kept isolated. However, Gabbar has learnt to mingle with the pack and spends all his days roaming around the VOSD Sanctuary. He is a gentle giant who only wants but one thing in life – food. We all probably have that one friend who spends all day long searching for or eating food, well, that’s Gabbar for you! Sultan is more than content with his meals of egg & mashed potato rice, which he has to be fed every day since he has a very sensitive stomach.
Monthly donations from kind dog lovers like you is what has made it possible for these handsome brothers to live comfortable and safe lives at VOSD. If not, can you imagine how dangerous it would have been for two tiny orphaned puppies on the street? Hundreds of other dogs like Gabbar and Sultan – without a home or hope – need our help.
Please continue to donate INR 5,000 ($68) one-time or monthly to enable us to save such vulnerable dogs: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/.
