According to ancient Indian belief, dogs are regarded as guardian angels that protect humans from negative energy and bad times. Lord Shiva, especially in the avatar of Kal Bhairav, is believed to be the protector of dogs; hence, he’s known as their “Ishta Dev.”
At VOSD, every Sunday from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m., we organise a pooja in the Shri Kal Bhairav Prasanna temple located at the entrance of the VOSD Sanctuary and pray for the health and happiness of our dogs and people, and give thanks to the Lord for protecting us.
From March 12th, 2023, and every Sunday we’re extending an invitation to VOSD’s patrons and dog lovers across the world to virtually join the pooja and pray for the well-being of their family members and beloved dogs. Due to the limitation of time, we will offer prayers for 5 families and their dogs in these Sunday poojas.
If you wish to offer prayers for the safety and good health of your family and dogs, please send the following information to info@vosd.in
• The full names and ages of your family members;
• The name and age of your dog(s).
There are NO CHARGES for this pooja and it will be on a first come first serve basis as we receive your requests. A one-minute excerpt of the pooja will be shared with you via email in 2–3 days’ time
However if you wish you can choose to feed our 1000+ rescued dogs https://vosd.in/donate-for-dog-food/
If you want a specific pooja or homa done only for your family and dogs, please write to info@vosd.in
