VOSD+SAW Rescue brings together an expert team and 2 ambulances to rescue and rehabilitate stray dogs in Pune. We are collaborating with SAW and other NGOs in Pune city to save the lives of stray dogs who have met with accidents or are ill.
One such stray dog, Joe, had a deep maggot-infested wound in his front leg. He was in so much pain that he just lay in front of a house at Anand Nagar, Pune, for an entire day. A kind neighbour noticed his pitiful condition and informed us. Our team reached the location and rescued Joe immediately.
Joe was admitted to Animal Rescue Trust NGO, Pune. The doctors cleaned his wound and removed all the maggots from the site. Thereafter, his wound was cleaned and dressed regularly. Joe was also given a nice shave so that the topical medicines could be applied to his injury properly.
After a few days of rest, medication and nutritious food Joe recovered completely. He was released back to his location where he will live a pain free and healthy life.
