VOSD+SAW Rescue brings together an expert team and 2 ambulances to rescue and rehabilitate stray dogs in Pune. We are collaborating with SAW and other NGOs in Pune city to save the lives of stray dogs who have met with accidents or are ill.
One such stray dog Sheru, caught the eye of one of our volunteers during a sterilisation drive. A tumour had developed in Sheru’s rectal region; clearly, the enormous growth had been there for quite some time as blood was oozing out of it. Sheru was visibly in great pain, so our team was summoned to the location and the dog was promptly rescued.
Sheru was admitted to Animal Rescue Trust, Pune. After conducting a thorough medical exam, doctors successfully removed the tumor through surgery. Sheru spent the next few days at the centre for post-operative care. The good dog was afforded plenty of rest, timely meals and relevant medicines during this period. Consequently, his wounds healed nice and quick.
Upon complete recovery, Sheru was released back to his location where he is doing perfectly well. To support our rescue operations and help more dogs like Sheru, please donate today.
