Understand the VOSD dog surrender process to help dogs who cannot survive on the streets.

HOW DO YOU SURRENDER A DOG TO VOSD?
https://vosd.in/surrender-a-dog/

If you come across a helpless old stray dog – he/she is ailing, can’t fend for food or water, and is deemed “unadoptable” due to age and illness… where does the dog go?

A vehicle runs over a puppy, leaving a severely damaged paw that needs to be amputated. Nobody wants to adopt a less-than-perfect mixed-breed Indian dog. So who will give this puppy a home when releasing the poor kid back on the streets isn’t an option?

You have an aggressive pet dog who has bitten multiple people in the family, leaving nasty wounds behind. Everyone advises that you euthanise the pet, but will your heart allow you to?

VOSD IS A PERMANENT HOME FOR DOGS WITH NO OTHER HOPE.
We offer permanent residence for canines who have been through life-threatening situations or who cannot survive on their own and have nowhere else to go. Undoubtedly, we are the foremost and best-managed sanctuary for dogs in India. Where else will you find acres of green area with over 600 trees, with not a single dog kept in a cage or a chain? Or large dog parks, their own hospital, and a team of talented caregivers, caretakers, and paravets?

If you would like to surrender a dog to VOSD:
1. Write to info@vosd.in and obtain approval to surrender the dog by sending us photos and all the details of the dog.
2. Fill the online form link that will subsequently be sent to you and make the one-time surrender payment of INR 20,000 (if applicable, note there are 5 surrender categories with no fees). The surrender fee is a small percentage of the cost that VOSD will incur in the lifelong care of the dog you want to surrender in terms of food, supplements, veterinary support, and medication. It takes ~INR 20,000 per year to maintain a healthy dog and can cost five times that amount to maintain an ailing/disabled/old dog.

We have ten categories under which we admit dogs: https://vosd.in/surrender-a-dog/. However, please consider this only as a LAST RESORT. For healthy young dogs, we strongly recommend that you try for their adoption.
