Just like September, October also brought us new friends and family in the form of 30 plus dogs through VOSD surrender process. All these dogs surmounted unbelievable challenges before they found their way to VOSD.
Some of them became paralyzed after being in horrific road accidents; some survived terrible cruelty at the hands of dog haters; some, due to bad training or psychological trauma, became aggressive and were on the verge of being abandoned or put down; while some were too old and infirm to navigate the street life anymore. All of these dogs had one thing in common, no one wanted them to exist. They were completely rejected and forsaken by a society that wronged them to begin with. And VOSD was their last shot at a decent life.
Like our founder Rakesh Shukla always says, “If nobody will touch the dog, then the dog belongs to me”. And so, they came to us and are living amidst human and dog friends; and getting the best medical aid possible.
These dogs have come to us from multiple locations across India such as Nanded, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai and many others. We are hoping that more dogs in need, from the remotest corners of India, will reach the safety of the VOSD Sanctuary and Hospital soon.
