VOSD+SAW Rescue brings together an expert team and 2 ambulances to rescue and rehabilitate stray dogs in Pune. We are collaborating with SAW and other NGOs in Pune city to save the lives of stray dogs who have met with accidents or are ill.
One such stray dog Bindi, who suffered from the transmissible venereal tumour, was rescued by our team after several attempts. The restless dog was always on the run but finally, we were able to capture her. Soon after, she was admitted to the Animal Rescue Trust NGO, Pune.
After conducting a thorough medical examination, the doctors surgically removed Bindi’s tumour and gave her multiple sessions of chemotherapy. She stayed at the facility for follow-up medical care for the next few weeks. Upon complete recovery, the sweet dog was released back to her location.
