The VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital is one of the world’s largest no-kill dog sanctuaries, where every canine who comes to us is given a fair chance to live a healthy & happy life. While most shelters euthanise aggressive dogs that can’t be controlled, we have the expertise of rehabilitating even the most unpredictable dogs.
Recently, a family in Delhi contacted us out of sheer desperation after their seven-month-old adopted puppy Zaiyn brutally bit four people! This sudden change in behaviour occurred after he completed five months of age, and no one could understand the intent behind these unprovoked attacks. The family’s elderly mother was residing with them, and having such a dangerous dog at home meant things might get worse. No one was able to control Zaiyn anymore. With no other option but to surrender him to VOSD, they reached out to us.
BITER BHEEM FROM HYDERABAD COMES TO VOSD AFTER ATTACKING FAMILY REPEATEDLY: https://bit.ly/3C7wUp9
According to Zaiyn’s family, he gets aggressive when someone starts playing with him as he is highly competitive. He doesn’t like objects in motion such as someone running, vehicles, and so on. He is also scared of other dogs and covers up his fear by barking at them, as noticed by his pet parents when taken out to the dog park.
It will certainly take us a few days to observe him carefully and plan a strategy to help him overcome his behavioural issues. But since his arrival, Zaiyn is eating normally, and he responds well to our dog handlers – he is comfortable enough to go for short walks with them. It’s going to be a long road ahead to rehabilitate this young puppy but we’ll ensure he has a great life ahead!

To support our work in providing world-class care and rehabilitation for Zaiyn and his buddies, please make a one-time or monthly donation of INR 5,000 (~$68) to cover their food & medical expenses: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/.
We wish that many more such dogs can find their ‘happily forever after’ at VOSD.
