NEW DOG AT VOSD: ELDERLY, BLIND DOG ABANDONED ON STREETS NOW HAS A LOVING FOREVER HOME WITH US

Recently, an NGO called the Belgaum Animal Rescue and Care (BARC) received a case about an elderly Labrador female abandoned on street. “She is completely blind. She also has wounds on her back filled with maggots,” wrote the admin to us. While they gave her necessary treatment and her wounds began healing, it was difficult for them to keep her away from other ill dogs in their facility. They tried to get her adopted as well, but didn’t receive any positive responses.

For her safety and proper care, ‘Chamcham’ was admitted to VOSD, which accepts senior and blind dogs like her without a surrender fee.

How cruel people are to mercilessly throw out a blind, elderly dog on the streets! This sudden separation from her family along with multiple wounds she had sustained left her in a dark place – she lost faith. Chamcham gets agitated all of a sudden and becomes aggressive with other dogs and people since she can’t see or doesn’t know if they’ll harm her. We’re working on correcting her behaviour and earning her trust by socialising with her every day.

She will spend the rest of her days lounging about the lush green sanctuary without ever having to worry about anything. She has been given a comfortable accommodation, nutritious food, regular exercise and… lots of love!

To help us care for hundreds of abandoned, elderly, blind dogs please donate INR 5,000 (~$63) one-time or monthly: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/. Every contribution can help us save a dog without a home or hope.
