Blind stray dog fallen in canal rescued and now safe at VOSD!

NEW DOG AT VOSD: BLIND STRAY DOG LYING IN CANAL NOW LEADS COMFORTABLE & CAREFREE DAYS AT VOSD

At the ripe old age of twelve a stray dog in Pune met the worst fate possible instead of leading her last days in comfort. She fell into a deep canal and lay there for long before getting noticed. The dark, scum-filled hell was no place for a dog to be in – can you imagine how she would’ve felt down there without food or water?

When she was finally spotted, she was rushed to Karma Foundation’s hospital in Pune city and checked for injuries. Luckily she had none, however, the team noticed she had only partial vision. Since she couldn’t be left back on the street due to old and age deteriorating eyesight, she was surrendered to VOSD, India’s largest rehabilitation centre for blind stray dogs.

Hippie was so happy to be in a safe place that she was waiting to explore every single corner of the sanctuary! We shifted her to our in-house hospital to monitor her, where she was quick to make human and doggie friends alike. A team of paravets inspect her every day – they also throw in a few head pats which she loves. Hippie might not be able to see very well but she sure can sniff out food so we indulge her in delicious pet-friendly treats too.

From withering away in a dingy canal, Hippie has come a long way and how leads comfortable and carefree days at the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital. She gets nutritious meals, warm bedding, medical attention, and lots of love. To help us care for hundreds of other senior and blind stray dogs residing under our care, kindly give them a one-time or monthly gift of INR 5,000 (~$62): https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/
