The VOSD Pune team took charge of the case of a stray dog who was injured. A road accident had caused one of her eyes to get severely damaged – an infection had set in and blood clots had formed. She was immediately given medical help and her condition improved, however, the doctors knew she would gradually lose vision in that eye.
The VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital admits partially or fully blind stray dogs from across India without a surrender fee; we are the largest facility of its kind to provide a permanent home and medical care for hundreds of blind dogs that cannot survive on the streets. So ‘Bobby’ was sent to the sanctuary by the VOSD Pune team for lifelong care.
From the word go, she’s been such a happy-go-lucky dog who loves people and other dogs alike. She jumps up on her caregivers to wish them good morning every day and sulks when she has to say goodbye to them at the end of the day!
Bobby currently stays in the 10,000-sq ft hospital inside the VOSD sanctuary because the condition of her eye needs to be monitored every day by our medical team to watch out for further infection or damage. We’re optimistic though that she has overcome her painful past and won’t have to suffer again.
