VOSD is India’s largest and best home for special needs dogs. Within our sanctuary, we house pooches who have been rescued from across the country after they were either injured, paralysed, abused, or neglected. One such puppy who recently came to us is Baby – she epitomises strength and bravery by fighting to overcome all her odds, just at the tender age of two months!
This poor kid was mowed down by a car which rendered her paralysed waist-down. Doctors confirmed she can’t ever walk again.
Horrifically enough, she met with another accident when she was in her rescuer’s home that left her with a fractured forelimb!
Three out of her four legs aren’t functional, yet Baby hasn’t lost the will to survive. So we are fighting alongside her every day to ensure her speedy recovery. Her movement has been restricted temporarily until her fracture has healed, and she has been started on calcium supplements for bone strength. It might take her a few weeks more to settle in completely, but until then she has us and her other doggie friends giving her all the comfort and love she needs.
Rakesh Shukla, who founded VOSD, has ensured that special needs dogs like Baby have the best of facilities. Soft bedding, temperature controlled rooms with heaters, staff to monitor them 24×7, and advanced medical aid for their optimal health.
