Every year, the unforgiving summers take a huge toll on stray dogs. While we have roofs over our heads, ice-cold water to drink, AC rooms to relax in – these poor souls can’t even tell anyone when they’re thirsty. They either resort to drinking from dirty puddles or, if even those aren’t available, end up being dehydrated which can be fatal.
The least we, as compassionate dog lovers, can do is to put out a water bowl for them and keep refilling it daily. Cement bowls are the best ones to use since they are hard to break or steal and are available in most plant nurseries for INR 40-50. If you can’t find these, you can always use terracotta, metal, or even plastic bowls (although it’s not recommended).
Our first priority should be – making water quickly and consistently available to our furry friends on the streets. Let’s do it!
