A Golden Retriever was found abandoned on the streets of Bangalore. A dog lover who spotted her knew the old girl was at a great risk if she remained on the streets:
– Pet dogs can’t fend for food since they’re used to being given all their meals.
– They can’t defend attacks from other stray dogs either.
– Some find it difficult to navigate the road since they are only used to living indoors. This can cause major accidents.
– Senior dogs have multiple health issues so when abandoned in their old age they will die without proper medical care
So the kind lady took the golden girl indoors, and began the process to admit her to VOSD. Since she is over 10 years of age, we admitted her into the VOS Hospice for elderly infirm dogs, without a surrender fees.
After a thorough grooming session, from under all the dirty matted fur emerged a beautiful, gentle and happy girl. We have named her ‘Nayi Kavya’ and she lives with VOSD’s founder Rakesh Shukla on campus. Since she has a visible hip problem and weak hind legs, she has been started on the VOSD Joint Care Supplement: https://shop.vosd.in/products/joint-care-supplement.
WE ARE THE ONLY NGO IN INDIA THAT NEVER SAYS NO TO A DOG IN DIRE NEED
The VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital is home to hundreds of such senior, ailing, abandoned dogs who would’ve suffered a great deal on the streets. You can help us care for them by donating INR 5,000 ($65) one-time or monthly: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/.
