A dog lover rescued a stray puppy from the streets. The poor pup was in bad shape when he was found. Since the man was experienced in fostering animals, he took him home. Once the pup began improving, he shared adoption appeals on various social media platforms to find a loving home for him. However, months passed and no one expressed interest to adopt Simba.
If Simba had been a purebred puppy, he would’ve instantly found a home. However, mixed breed Indian puppies who have been rescued from the streets barely stand the chance of getting adopted. It is illogical why this disparity exists – every pup is the same and just as loving, playful, and loyal. In fact, Indian breeds dogs are far more suitable to our weather conditions, their immunity is better and they’re apartment-friendly too. So why is it that pups like Simba end up suffering on the streets, or without a home when they deserve as much a chance at being loved as a Labrador or German Shepherd?
The VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital strongly believes in giving helpless dogs without a home or hope a fair chance to live. Hence, after following the surrender process, the foster dad surrendered Simba under our care.
VOSD’s founder Rakesh Shukla resides within the VOSD Sanctuary, and the frailest, timid, old, and ailing dogs stay under his care with an army of staff watching over the dogs. So Simba soon found his way to his papa’s home, where Rakesh was waiting for him with open arms. He instantly knew that papa would protect him forever, and curled up against his chest.
Puppies like Simba deserve a great home, but if greedy materialistic humans who pick breed and appearance over a beautiful soul don’t want him, VOSD will be his forever family. He will live with hundreds of other dogs who failed to get adopted just like him – they will all thrive under our protection. We need your help to meet the monthly food & medical expenses of these sweet babies, so will you donate to save a dog’s life?
A monthly or one-time contribution of INR 5,000 (~$68) will ensure that no dog like Simba ever goes without getting the best care they merit: https://vosd.in/donation-for-dogs
