Pregnant dog hit by train ?

NEW DOG AT VOSD: TRAIN ACCIDENT SURVIVOR DOG BELLA COMES HOME TO VOSD

Bella was pregnant when a train hit her on the railway tracks, where she went looking for food, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, her hometown. Both her front paws were chopped off in the collision and she lost her babies inside her womb. The poor girl bled profusely in the aftermath and was in extreme pain because of the multiple ailments; she lay near the track as she was unable to move about because of the severe injuries. A kind rescuer recognised her intense suffering and immediately took her to the vet for treatment.

The doctors put her on relevant medication and Bella’s kind foster family took her to her doctor regularly; after several weeks of treatment her leg wounds also healed to an extent, but she still couldn’t walk or run; so, leaving her back near the railway tracks would put her life under enormous threat all over again. Her foster parents couldn’t keep her for the long haul, so they began looking for permanent homes for her. They read about VOSD on the internet and approached our helpdesk. We of course were happy to bring Bella home.

Bella adapted to her new environment pretty quickly, she is a sweet girl who loves to be petted often. Our medical team cleans and dresses her wounds every day, and Bella is very patient during all her procedures. We are hopeful she will heal completely very soon and be able to lead a pain-free life at VOSD.

Things are looking up for Bella already, she eats nutritious meals and sleeps peacefully in her warm bed. The insecure, unforgiving life in the outside world is a thing of the past now. Only wonderful days await her at VOSD sanctuary and after all that she has been through, she deserves to be happy.
