Puppy run over by a bike survives and reaches VOSD!

NEW DOG AT VOSD: PUPPY WITH CRUSHED SKULL WHO BEAT DEATH SURRENDERED TO US FOR LIFELONG CARE

A tiny puppy who seemed to have been orphaned was found lying on the streets of Kota, Rajasthan. A bike had run over him crushing his skull and for six hours he lay there with no help. When he was rescued by Mission Paws, an NGO in Kota, his head was bleeding so the doctors thought his chances of survival were slim. However, after months of treatment in the ICU, brave boy Jerry bounced back beating death!

He recovered well and regained his puppy energy, leaving everyone hopeful that he would find a great home. But as time went by, no one came forth to adopt him since he is a mixed breed Indian dog. Had he been a fluffy pedigree puppy, he might have been adopted. Releasing Jerry on the streets wasn’t an option either due to the grave nature of his accident – so the only safe place for him remained the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital.

He reached our campus about a month ago, terrified and timid. It was only now that he let one of our caregivers at least touch him. His fear is probably due to his traumatic past, but we’ll never give up on him. We’ll continue socialising with him every day until Jerry realises that we don’t mean harm and are here to give him all the love he needs.

Jerry is one of hundreds of special needs dogs who reside at the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital. Please help us meet the recurring expenses for their food and medicines by donating INR 5,000 ($65) one-time or monthly: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/. Every contribution you make can help us provide a safe space and care for India’s vulnerable dogs.
