Puppy who lost her legs after bike accident is UNRECOGNISABLE now

VOSD MEDICAL UPDATE: STRAY PUPPY WHOSE HIND LIMBS HAD TO BE AMPUTATED HAS ADAPTED TO LIFE AT VOSD!

In June 2022, we had posted a video about a stray puppy from Kurnool whose hind limb got crushed due to a road accident – her leg had to be amputated as it was damaged beyond repair. Since she couldn’t survive on the streets any longer, she was surrendered to VOSD under the ‘Special Needs Dog’ category. Watch her story here: https://bit.ly/40zhSnL

Bolt was renamed Kajri upon reaching the VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital. The tiny pupper was so full of life and energy; it hardly seemed to bother or affect her that she only had three legs! However, due to the previous amputation not performed satisfactorily, the suture site got infected and putrefaction set in. She also suffered from prolonged high fever, fatigue, and loss of appetite. The pus accumulation eventually spread to her private parts and other limb too so an emergency amputation had to be done on the right hind leg.

She was in cage rest and on antibiotics for a month during which the infection cleared up, and her sutures healed. We were unsure if the 8-month-old Kajri would even pull through and live, but she proved she is a fighter and overcame all her health issues! Even with just two legs, she is back to her bubbly and loving self and enjoys playing with other dogs and humans alike. A special wheelcart is being designed for her to improve her mobility and prevent further wounds/abrasions. Stay tuned for further updates!
