VOSD+SAW Rescue brings together an expert team and 2 ambulances to rescue and rehabilitate stray dogs in Pune. We are collaborating with SAW and other NGOs in Pune city to save the lives of stray dogs who have met with accidents or are ill.
One such stray dog, Sheru, whose hind leg was broken, was spotted near Mulshi road near Ghotawde Phata. He had a bloody and broken hind leg. A passerby informed us and our team went to the location and rescued Sheru immediately.
Sheru was admitted to Stray Animal Rescue Organisation (SAWO), Pune. After a thorough medical exam, it was revealed that Sheru was suffering from bone cancer. Doctors deemed it best to amputate Sheru’s limb. He was put on relevant medication and in due course Sheru’s amputation surgery was completed successfully. He is presently recovering at SAWO; and will be released back to his location once he is fully fit.
