VOSD+SAW Rescue brings together an expert team and 2 ambulances to rescue and rehabilitate stray dogs in Pune. We are collaborating with SAW and other NGOs in Pune city to save the lives of stray dogs who have met with accidents or are ill.
One such stray dog, Bala, had a huge maggot-infested wound on the back of his head. Several persons informed our team about Bala’s deteriorating condition but none were able to tell us his exact location. After four to five days of extensive search we were able to find and rescue Bala.
He was promptly admitted to Animal Rescue Trust NGO, Pune. The doctors immediately removed all maggots from his wound and cleaned it. For the next few days, he was put on a course of relevant antibiotics and painkillers; he also received a nutritious diet along with regular dressing of his wound.
After Bala healed completely, he was released to his location. We are sure the dear boy will be able to lead a pain-free and happy life in a familiar environment.
