VOSD+SAW Rescue brings together an expert team and 2 ambulances to rescue and rehabilitate stray dogs in Pune. We are collaborating with SAW and other NGOs in Pune city to save the lives of stray dogs who have met with accidents or are ill.
Ravi developed a huge transmissible venereal tumour (TVT) on his penis earlier this year. A kind rescuer noticed that the young dog was suffering a great deal due to the extremely painful malignant tumor. He promptly approached the Sinhgad Animal Welfare Charitable Trust (SAW) team for help.
Our team reached the spot immediately but couldn’t find the elusive dog who kept moving from one place to another (most likely because of the physical discomfort he was facing). Finally, after 10 days of extensive searching, we were able to locate and rescue the sweet and docile dog. Soon after, we took Ravi to the vet, who, after conducting a thorough physical exam, recommended surgery and three sessions of chemotherapy. A couple of days later, the tumour was surgically removed and over the next few weeks Ravi received chemotherapy and post-operative care. The following month, the boy was completely healed and eager to go back home. So, our team released a happy, strong and perfectly healthy Ravi back to his old neighborhood.
