NEW DOG AT VOSD – LITTLE SPECIAL NEEDS DOG COMES TO VOSD FOR LIFELONG CARE

Choti Murgi (the little hen) lost all her littermates very early in life; they reportedly died due to mal-nutrition but it was also suspected that all deceased siblings suffered from a birth defect, which was the actual cause of their demise. The doctors weren’t able to identify the exact reason for the death of pups.

Additionally, Choti Murgi’s growth was severely stunted; she had a full set of teeth and ate well but despite being six months old and getting enough nutrition, she remained the size of a 20-day pup. Choti Murgi has no visible deformity except slightly curved limbs. Local veterinarians could not pinpoint as to why she was not growing normally.

The little dog’s rescuer became worried that Choti Murgi would also die of a mysterious congenital deformity like her brothers and sisters. They wanted to send her to a facility where her underlying condition could be diagnosed. Moreover, the tiny dog, with curved limbs, would not be able to fend for herself on the streets without the protection of a family.

So, Choti Murgi came to VOSD, for specialised care, all the way from Kota, Rajasthan. She was promptly put on a special diet and supplements to aid her growth. She has gotten extremely comfortable in her new home. Everybody loves the cute, innocent little dog, who looks like a puppy. We will take good care of her for the rest of her life.
