VOSD+SAW Rescue brings together an expert team and 2 ambulances to rescue and rehabilitate stray dogs in Pune. We are collaborating with SAW and other NGOs in Pune city to save the lives of stray dogs who have met with accidents or are ill.
One such stray dog, Chota Puppy, got run over by a bike and suffered severe injuries on his jaw and a hind leg. A kind passerby informed us of the accident after which our team reached the location rescued Chota Puppy immediately.
Chota Puppy was admitted to Animal Rescue trust (ART) NGO, Pune, where his wounds were cleaned and dressed. He has been put on relevant medication and gets plenty of rest and nutrition. His jaw injury has healed completely but his leg is still in a cast. In due course, when his plaster cast is removed and Chota Puppy is completely recovered, he will be released back to his caretakers.
Once again Chota Puppy’s story shines a light how stray animals suffer due to road accidents. Let us stay committed to the cause of educating people about safe driving and endeavour to protect our street animals.
