On a sunny morning after eating her fill of delicious food, Lady can be seen sprawled out for a snooze. She is missing a limb but that doesn’t stop her from leading a happy and healthy life at VOSD.
Quite content spending time alone, this four-year-old doesn’t care much for human attention. If a pesky doggo gets in the way of her ‘me time’ either, she will gently warn them to give her space. But Lady has an adorable side to her which we enjoy observing. She recently discovered a rather unique bed for herself – during some construction work, we had laid green sheets on the floor, which she promptly hopped onto! Winters are for curling up and sleeping, right?
Sweet girl Lady was rescued from Pune when she was living on the street. In 2020, she met with a road accident that left her with extensive injuries. Veterinarians advised that her limb must be amputated. But since she would be too weak to survive on the streets with a missing leg and was a very shy and nervous dog, her rescuers surrendered her to us for lifelong care.
The VOSD Sanctuary & Hospital is the world’s largest no-kill dog sanctuary, which takes pride in providing the best care for special needs dogs. Like Lady, we have many other special needs dogs who were brought to us from different parts of the country. They are fed nutritious meals, given comfortable accommodation, medicines & supplements, and veterinary support.
If you wish to contribute towards the care of these babies, please donate INR 5,000 (~$68) one-time or monthly: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/
Every contribution you make can help us save a special needs dog!
